Deep Sea Angler Fish: Some Fun Facts on this Deep Sea Monster
There is a reason why the deep sea angler fish is among the list of deep sea monsters. The way this fish looks, this could be really scary. Unlike other fish, the angler fish that resides in the deepest parts of the seas and the oceans actually come with teeth so long and sharp especially at the lower parts of their mouth and some medium sized ones on the upper part of the mouth that any fish, anyone at all would run away when they spot the luminous glow of their bodies.
This fish is feared in the deepest parts of the seas and oceans and just so, they should be. Apparently, these species of water dwelling animals are blessed with the ability to glow underwater they could use to lure in prey so they could eat such prey whole. The fish can actually swallow prey that’s twice or more its size despite the small size of the said angler fish.
The angler fish is quite small in size. They have wide bodies but they can only grow until around 12 cm or approximately 5 inches. This goes for both the male and female species of this angler fish. Both of these species are quite astonishing animals. They have the same build and their bones are quite flexible thus allowing them to eat any fish that come their way despite the difference in sizes. Truly, the deep see angler fish is a fearsome underwater monster.
The male angler fish is smaller than that of the female but it can swallow any fish twice its size. We’ve already mentioned before that this is because of their very flexible bones or skeletal system and their wide bodies.
The angler fish look like they don’t have any flesh attached to their bones from a distance. Unlike the body systems that are given fully-functional to that of the female angler fish, the male angler fish’s digestive system actually degenerates when they mature. This is why they have to latch onto the female angler fish to survive living in the deep seas or oceans.
What the male angler fish does to survive is to wait for a female angler fish to come—there is something within them they use to spot females—and then latch onto them, making their blood vessels completely one in the end. This is the way then that the male species of the angler fish would feed. They feed through the food that the female angler fish eats. They also reproduce offspring that are males and females this way.
Now, aren’t these some fascinating facts of the deep sea angler fish to know? Most scientists are studying the angler fish because there is not a lot people know about them yet aside from their ability to glow, their ability to eat anything twice or thrice and even more their size and the ability of the male species to connect with that of the female species of the angler fish. It remains an enigma how this fish proliferate despite knowing all these.
The angler fish is, as we’ve mentioned before, a dweller of the deepest parts of the seas and the oceans. These parts are known to be the coldest that one would wonder just how this fish survive it there. This is another enigma that scientists are trying to decipher with their study of the said fish. The fish is one of perhaps many unknown sea creatures that can survive the depths of the seas and oceans. Even humans can’t survive such an environment as harsh as the deep seas and oceans.
These deep sea monsters actually earn their moniker from the way they look and perhaps even in the way they behave. Truly, for its size, the deep sea angler fish is an attractive but deadly fish for those who wander the darkest and deepest depths of the seas and the oceans. Other fishes continue to be attracted by them thus they end up falling prey to the angler fish. But then there’s nothing we can do if the fishes of other kinds get attracted to the angler fish and then they are eaten. It’s the way the angler fish actually works to survive the depths of the seas and oceans.

I also thought his chapter on suffering was shallow as well. He didnt really take this issue seriously. There could be a reason for all the suffering in the world that our puny human minds can not conceive, but that seems unlikely. God allowed Jews in the Holocaust to suffer and most of them are now burning in hell, according to Christianity. How is that suffering ultimately for a good purpose? I can not believe that this is the best of all possible worlds, which it would be if there was a good, sovereign God.
